Atish P. Gheware, M.Pharm., PhD, is a postdoctoral research associate in Lee lab. He received his M.Pharm. degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Poona College of Pharmacy and earned his PhD in Biological Sciences from CSIR-IGIB in 2021. He joined the Lee Lab in May 2022 to investigate the role of ferroptosis, a type of lipid peroxidation-mediated cell death, in the regulation of monocyte survival in the lung and its impact on the course of injury, resolution, and repair. Additionally, he is investigating the functional significance of thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) derived from platelets and megakaryocytes in lung injury and repair.
