Ananya Gupta, PhD

Senior Scientist

Ananya Gupta is a motivated senior scientist with over a decade of research experience in the field of pulmonary infection and underlying immune responses. Dr. Gupta holds PhD degree in Immunology from the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India where she focused on innovative anti-tuberculosis immunotherapy strategies against Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in small animal model. Her Doctoral research was focused on comparing the pulmonary and systemic immune response following nasal / conventional route of anti-tuberculosis immunotherapy and to understanding immunological status of two pulmonary compartments i.e., lung airways and the interstitium following the immunotherapy. She joined Khader Lab as a post doctoral research associate in April 2019, where she explored the intricacies of pulmonary and systemic immune responses, contributing significantly to the field of immunology.

In her current role, she is thriving to understand the lung-bone marrow axis during acute lung injury. She is highly motivated and invested in using high-throughput techniques, transgenic mouse models and clinical specimen to delineate cellular and molecular cues of pulmonary microenvironment during pathogenic insult.
